Winter Close-Ups

Our 5-day weekend in Canmore included one short walk and one longer geocaching walk that netted four smileys. As always, we carried our cameras. Mr. GeoK was shooting with his Olympus Pen E-P3 and Mrs. GeoK with her Olympus E-PL1, both small form-factor micro four-thirds format cameras – extremely portable and easy to carry while out walking and hiking, even with a couple of alternate lenses tucked into a bag. It was cloudy most of the weekend; Mr. GeoK captured one dramatic landscape, but for the most part we pointed our cameras at close-up targets:

About GeoKs

Our family enjoys outdoor adventures in the beautiful southwest corner of Alberta: hiking, biking, geocaching and nature photography are some of our favourite activities. We started hiking as a family in 2004, when our youngest was 4 years old. We started geocaching in 2006, when our friends "Sears Tower" introduced us to high-tech treasure hunting. We especially enjoy earthcaches. We've been slowly migrating from paved path cycling to single-track riding. And as far as photography goes, Mr. GeoK and our oldest son avidly pursue great shots in the beautiful Canadian Rockies.
